Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 19: Reacting strongly to the decision to postpone Panchayat by-elections, the Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray leaders of Jammu and Kashmir unit asked the Central Government clarify whether the situation in J&K is normal or not.
At the meeting of senior leaders at the party office Jammu today, State President Manish Sahni said that the central government decides the situation in Jammu and Kashmir according to its convenience.
Sahni said that by claiming the situation to be normal the notification for Panchayat by-election issued on Feb 13 and yesterday government issued another notice to postpone the same citing security reasons. Sahni said that the government's action questions its own claims. He further said that he feels that perhaps the Modi government is looking for puppet leaders in Kashmir. Sahni said that the BJP leaders are making the same mistakes that the Congress did in 1948. Sahni said that Shiv Sena will never tolerate that once again the Kashmiri leaders decide the future of Jammu and Kashmir. Shivsena leaders also paid floral tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, on his 390th birth. On this occasion Working president Ashwani Gupta, Gen Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Vice president Harsh Gupta, Secretary Raj Singh, Raju Salaria, Mangu Ram and many others were present.
