Erdogan, UN Chief face embarrassment after talking in Pak’s language
2/19/2020 9:07:13 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 19: Pakistan during the past few days has once again tried to rake up the Kashmir but in a different way.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and United Nations General Secretary Antonio Gutteres, who visited Pakistan during the past few days, have spoken Pakistan’s language, evoking a sharp response from India.
Reacting to Erdogan’s statement on Kashmir, the Ministry of External Affairs served a strong demarche to him. “Remarks of Turkey President reflect that he has neither an understanding of history nor conduct of diplomacy and his comments will have strong implications on India’s ties with Turkey,” the MEA said in a statement.
The MEA also conveyed to the UN General Secretary in plain words that the United Nations need not worry about Kashmir as it’s the integral part of India and no third party can intervene.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “Pakistan after facing humiliation from all the sides is now trying to prick the leaders, who are visiting the country for one or other reason. Pakistan leadership has been left issueless. During the past three decades it has been grooming terrorists in its backyard and has been exporting terror to India. But now its facing the heat as India’s changed foreign policy has made it clear that it will be tit for tat.”
He said, “In order to divert the attention from the issues which are being faced by Pakistan its leaders just keep in harping about Kashmir. Their propaganda about Kashmir is burning is nothing but a blatant lie. The envoys of nearly forty countries which visited Kashmir during the past two months have conveyed it to the world that life in Kashmir has returned to normal.”
An observer said, “The Government of India has sent a clear and loud message to the world that Pakistan cannot get away by promoting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. And if the terror groups backed by Pakistan indulge in any sort of misadventure they will be taught a lesson in a language they understand. It’s bullet for bullet and bomb for bomb.”
The observer said that UN resolutions on Kashmir became obsolete and irrelevant after Simla Agreement as both the countries at that point of time agreed to resolve all the issues bilaterally.
“The United Nation Secretary General should stop offering help and concentrate on other issues. Turkey is grappling with number of issues and President Erdogan should focus on it rather than poking his nose in the matters which don’t fall in his domain,” the observer added.
