PG College Rajouri organizes symposium

RAJOURI, Feb 20: PG Department of Computer Science of Govt. P.G. College Rajouri organized an Inter-collegiate symposium on "Cyber Crime and Preventive Measures" to create awareness about different prevailing cyber threats and preventive measures that can be taken to safe guard against them. 20 participants from different Colleges viz. GDC Poonch, GDC Darhal, GDC Kotranka, GDC Nowshera, GDC Budhal, GDC Mendhar and PG College Rajouri participated in the symposium. Vikas Bhargav student of PG College Rajouri, Wasim Akram of GDC Koteranka and Wahid Sadeeq of GDC Mendhar were adjudged as 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Shakeel Ahmed Raina presided over the event where as Dr. Abdul Raouf, Associate Professor GDC Mendhar was the Chief Guest at the occasion. Prof Abdul Karim HOD Computer Science presented the welcome address; Supriya Gupta Assistant Professor Computer Science briefed the importance of the topic. Dr. Anwer Shah, Prof. Waseem Akram and Prof. Jameel acted as judges.
Chief Guest Dr. Abdul Raouf enlightened the gathering about the topic of discussion. Principal Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Raina also motivated the students to be vigilant while using internet and appreciated efforts of the PG Department of Computer Science of the College for organizing the symposium. Other faculty members present on the occasion were Prof. Javed Iqbal Mughal, Prof. Riaz Mirza, Prof Sankait Gupta, Prof Yasir Chowdhary, Prof Amjed Khan Bhatti, Prof. Rabia Kouser and Dr. Parveen Sadotra. Stage proceedings were carried out by Zafar Iqbal and Haseena Kouser students of MCA and vote of thanks was given by Prof. Salma Farooq. Large number of students and faculty of College attended the programme.
