Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 20: Expressing shock and anguish over maligning him for cancellation of this year's Shobha Yatra on the eve of Guru Ravi Dassji Jayanti, former President All Jammu and Kashmir Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Vijay Lochan today said he will quit from public life if allegations are proven against him.
Addressing a press conference here this afternoon, Vijay Lochan dared the former President of Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Piran Ditta to prove his false and frivolous allegations against him or else call it a day in social life and tender an apology to the community for launching a slanderous and mischievous campaign against him.
Lochan decried the accusation of the Piran Ditta maligning him for having allegedly sought stay over the Shobha Yatra. "This is a blatant lie and if those leveling such frivolous charges have guts, they should come forward and prove it in the general council meeting", he said.
Vijay Lochan reiterated his unflinching commitment to the genuine cause of the community, saying he had no lust for any position. "Whatever I have been doing is for the service of the community with the blessings of Guruji", he said, adding that he has been rendering selfless service and will continue to do so if the Biradri bestows its faith in him.
He expressed deep anguish over the cancellation of the annual Shobha Yatra on the eve of the Prakash Divas of Guru Ravi Dassji on 7th February due to bickering and personal skirmishes of the last elected President Mr Piran Ditta and General Secretary M L Banalia, who have since been removed by a court verdict for overstaying on their positions illegally, unethically and unconstitutionally.
