Illegal recruitment in Cultural Academy: PDP leader questioned by Crime Branch

Jammu, Feb 20: Crime Branch of J&K Police has quizzed a senior PDP leader and former MLC Zaffar Iqbal Manhas following the allegations of illegal appointments in the academy by abusing his official position.
Credible sources said that were allegations of illegal appointments of in the J&K Cultural Academy against when Manhas was its Secretary. He is accused of “abusing his official position in active criminal conspiracy with the beneficiaries and in utter violation of rules and regulations during his tenure”
Credible sources said that Crime Branch of J&K Police on Wednesday quizzed Manhas for his role in illegal appointments.
“A case against his private secretary has already been registered”, sources said and revealed that initial investigation conducted by the Crime Branch authenticated that illegal appointments were made during his tenure. It was found that 19 candidates were appointed through illegal means on different posts.
Credible sources said that one of the subordinate of Zaffar Manhas, who is main accused in the recruitment scam, has pointed out that it was all due to consent of the then Secretary Cultural Academy that these illegal appointments were made.
