UDHAMPUR, Feb 21: The Death anniversary of the Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan, was observed with patriotic fervor by Martyr Captian Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust on Friday.
Heartfelt tributes were paid to the martyr who sacrificed his life for the motherland. The Trust in association with Pancham Jammu organized a program to commemorate fourth martyrdom day of martyr Capt. Tushar (Shourya Chakra) in Abhinav Theater Jammu on Friday in which eleven families of the valiant soldiers and civilians who sacrificed their lives for the integrity and solidarity of the country were honored.
On this occasion, Lt Gen (Retd ), Rakesh Sharma, AVSM,SM was the chief guest. Major general Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, Team Jammu (Ngo) President Zorawer Singh Jamwal, Deepanker Gupta and galaxy of other Army, Police officers, prominent citizens attended the function. Captain Tushar Mahajan of the Army 9 Para Special Forces laid down his life fighting three-to-five holed up terrorists at Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir on 21 Febuary 2016.Vikas Manhas presented welcome address.
Shewetketu Singh Secretary of Trust in his welcome note highlighted the various activities of Trust like felicitation of martyrs families, organization of eye camps, honoring of meritorious students and providing uniforms and other stationery articles to poor and needy students. He added that so far surgery of 120 patients have been got done so far and about 90 hearing aids have been provided to needy. He reiterated the resolve of the Trust to carry on such activities in future too.
The Chief Guest Lt Gen (Retd), Rakesh Sharma in his address praised the Captain Tushar Mahajan for his exemplary indomitable courage and valour and said that he was the epitome of true Indian soldier who does not mind sacrificing his life in the service of the nation.
He said that it is imperative to honor our heroes especially the martyrs who have laid down their lives for safeguarding the nation as it imbibes a sense of patriotism and linkage to ones country. He added that his courage, devotion and sacrifice for the nation will always be remembered and keep inspiring all of us. He appreciated the activities done by the martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust.
The Artist of stero studio and Brahm Rishi Bawara School Udhampur presented patriotic song which filled the auditorium with an atmosphere of patriotism and nationalism. The exemplary heroic stories of the honored soldiers courage and Martyr Parihar brothers were narrated to audience by Stage secretary Kusum Tickoo, Shevatma Jamwal and Ranjit Parihar. AnuRadha Prabhu Deasi presented motivational speech whichbenthrill everyone.
Eleven martyr families form Army, police and civilians hailing from different parts of country were honoured by the Trust on the occasion. They were presented a memento and shawl. Those who were honored include Salma Khan Ghori wife of Martyr Major M.S.Khan Ghori from Banglore, Nimal Khanna wife of martyr Squardon leader Ravi Khanna from Jammu, Parents of Dy SP Aman Thakur of J&K Police from Doda, Shashi Devi wife of Naik Krishan Lal from village Ghaghriyal Khour Akhnoor, Rajni Kumari wife of Naik Rajinder Singh from Bhagta chak Rajpura Samba, Shimpu Devi wife of lance Naik Ranjeet Singh from Suligam Ramban, Rattan Lal father of Rifleman Rajat Kumar from Pallanwala Akhnoor, Anchal Singh father of Rifleman Varun katal of Mawa Samba,Wife of Pulwama Martyr Head constable Naseer Ahmed from Rajouri and Kanchan Parihar and Neelam Parihar wives of Martyr Anil and Ajit Parihar from Kishtwar who attained martyrdom in Kishtwar on November 01 ,2018.
Documentary of the valour of martyrs who scarified their lives for nation was also shown on this occasion.
