| Over 61 kg poppy straw recovered, 3 arrested | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Feb 21: Udhampur police recovered 61Kg 760 Grams of contraband substance (poppy straw) from three narcotic smugglers at Motorshed Naka, NHW, Chenani. Giving details. Rajiv Pandey, IPS SSP Udhampur Police party of PS Chenani led by Insp. Paramjeet Singh SHO PS Chenani under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Katoch Addl. SP Udhampur laid a naka at motorshed, NHW, Chenani for frequent checking of vehicles. During naka checking, police party intercepted one truck bearing registration no. HR 61C 4719 and one Maruti Zen Car bearing registration no. DL2CAA 4102 for checking. During checking of said vehicles, 61kg 760 grms of poppy straw was recovered from both the vehicles. The accused persons namely Devinder Maish S/O Prem Maish R/O Gurdaspur, Abdul Arhad S/O Abdul Aziz R/O Budgam Sajjad Ahmed S/O Ali Mohd. R/O Budgam were arrested on spot and recovered poppy straw was also seized. In this connection, two cases FIR No. 23/2020 U/S 8/15 and 24/2020 U/S 8/15 NDPS stands registered at PS Chenani and further investigation of the case is going on. |
