Ram Madhav meeting with Altaf Bukhari fuels rumours
2/22/2020 11:11:48 PM

Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Feb 22: Amid reports that he is going to form a new political party very soon, former minister and ex-PDP leader Altaf Bukhari today met BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav at Gulmarg. Meeting between two political stalwarts have fuelled rumours that Bukhari will take BJP leadership into good humour before giving final shape to his political initiative.
Credible sources said that all senior leaders, who have been involved in the process of forming new party will take Centre on the board because without taking Union Government into confidence this exercise would be futile.
Altaf Bhukhari was expelled by the PDP last month after he along with his party colleagues met a delegation of foreign envoys and diplomats in Srinagar.
Months after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, some PDP leaders including former J&K finance minister Altaf Bukhari are set to float a new regional party.
Sources said that new party will be launched in a week or two in Srinagar. Altaf Bukhari has recently confirmed that a new political party was going to be formed in the coming days which would represent the aspirations of both Jammu and Kashmir regions.
Altaf Bukhari was expelled by the PDP last month after he along with his party colleagues met a delegation of foreign envoys and diplomats in Srinagar. Altaf Bukhari had also praised the Modi government for ensuring no loss of life in the Kashmir Valley after the revocation of Article 370 and 35A in August.
On January 9, the PDP expelled eight party leaders -- Dilawar Mir, Rafi Ahmad Mir, Zaffar Iqbal, Abdul Majeed Padroo, Raja Manzoor Khan, Javaid Hussain Baig, Qamar Hussain, Abdul Rahim Rather besides Shah Mohammad Tantray -- two days after they met the Lt Governor under the leadership of former party leader Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari.
Shah Mohammad Tantray then resigned from the primary membership of PDP, citing his unhappiness with it over "unnecessary expulsions" of leaders for meeting Lt Governor G C Murmu.
