Discrimination unending!

Early Times Report
jammu, Feb 22: Even as Kashmir is busy hosting some of the mega sporting events at the very commencement of the new year, the Jammu region looks idle on this front, as the government seems to be "more focused on the valley alone."
As if youth live in Kashmir alone and no one in Jammu is interested in sports activities that some of the big tournaments are being hosted in the valley alone. With this being the government focus towards Kashmir during winters when harsh cold otherwise prevents much of sporting activities in the region, the scene in favorable summers ahead can only be imagined.
Official sources said around half a dozen mega tournaments are underway in Kashmir. This includes the ongoing Inter-College Cricket Rolling Trophy, Srinagar Championship in Volleyball, Kabaddi Rolling Trophy and the Martial Art Championship. Interestingly the Youth Services and Sports Department is hosting a Inter Panchayat Tournament.
This year even in the biting cold of December, a mega football event was held in the summer capit

Sources said the government wants the youth in Kashmir to explore their potential to their best in the field of sports. The sources said crores of rupees under various schemes are being spend on promotion of sports activities in the trouble-torn valley.
But then why discrimination with youth of Jammu region even on this front? This question has been making the rounds in the public circles in the winter capital region, especially among the youth.
"The government could have explored the favorable weather conditions during winter months to boost up the sports activities in Jammu but even when the dArbar is right here, the entire attention of the government looks towards Kashmir only," said an observer keeping eye on the sporting activities in the Union Territory.
A senior official in the Civil Secretariat, however, downplayed the issue. "Sporting events are being held in Jammu as well," the official said.
Meanwhile, the youth of Jammu region have appealed Lieutenant Governor, GC Murmu to personally look into the matter.
