Heritage School Organises Workshop on Global Citizenship Education

Jammu, Feb 22: Heritage School on Saturday organised a workshop on Global Citizenship Education (SDG 4.7).
The workshop was conducted by Kuvam Mehra presently working as Vice-President in Global Citizenship Foundation an NGO.
The workshop aimed at adopting an integrated Whole School Approach to Global Citizenship Education. Kuvam Mehra talked about 17 sustainable development goals and how the teachers can incorporate them in their teaching to transform the world.
Global Citizenship Education is a transformative, life long pursuit that involves both curriculum learning and practical experience to shape a mindset to care for humanity and the planet and to equip an individual with global competence to undertake responsible actions aimed at forging more just, peaceful, secure, sustainable, tolerant and inclusive societies. The main agenda of the session understood Global Citizenship Education, policy to foster GCED, levels of Integration of GCED in formal Education systems and an integrated Whole School Approach to GCED. The workshop also talked about initiatives taken by Global Citizen Foundation.
It was a highly interactive and informative session which will assist teachers in focussing Global Citizenship Education Dimension to teaching and learning process.
The Principal, Heritage school expressed his gratitude to Kuvam Mehra for his efforts in creating awareness among the teachers.
