EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Feb 24: Krishnappa Gowhtham’s 7 seven wicket in 18 over’s took the game away from Jammu and Kashmir as Karnataka outclassed J&K by 167 runs in a knock out Ranji Quarterfinal match at Jammu.
Jammu and Kashmir were never in the game after failing to take the lead in the first innings. Karnataka resumed the last day of the game with a lead of 259 runs and added 71 runs to the tally. Karnataka lost all the wickets at the score of 316 runs.
J&K team required 330 runs in 58 over which were too difficult for the host team. Suryansh Raina was first to go on the score of 20 runs. Khajuria went next when Jammu and Kashmir were on the score of 46 runs.
Then there were miss hit and loose shots. None of the batsmen could really play hard from the first ball. Abdul Samad was asked to bat up the order at position no. 4 which could click as he scored just 2 runs in 3 balls.
Jammu and Kashmir had no answer to Karnataka’s Krishnappa Gowhtham, who is batting all rounder. He hit the stumps and was bowling on the good lengths. Jammu and Kashmir showed no fight and had no intention to win the game.
Shubham Pundir, Auqib Nabi and Umar Nazir showed some resistance at the end of the game but it was too little too late for the team Jammu and Kashmir.
