Poonch, Feb 24: Inter-college Sports festival of Higher Education Department inaugurated at Sports Stadium Poonch in which 36 Teams of 4 Different College of Poonch, Surankote, Mandi and Mendhar Participated.
The week long Sports festival was inaugratd by DDC Poonch Rahul yadav at Sports stadium Poonch.
On the day of inaugration students participated in different games ranging from Kabaddi, Cricket football, Kho Kho, badminton, Hockey, Tug of war, Tabel Tennis and volleyball, students displayed high quality of sportsmanship at sports stadium where the Chief Guest witnessed these sporting event and congratulated the students and Sports management organizing the festival for high quality perfomances and talent of the students.
While Speaking on the occasion DDC Poonch Rahul Yadav lauded the efforts of Higher Education Department in General and Government Degree College Poonch in Particular for providing students much needed platform where they can exhibit their talent and excel in the field of sports.
Speaking on the ocassion, Jasbir Singh Convener of The Festival congratulated the entire management of the festival and student fraternity for keeping pace with the requirements of the present time, he also said that only a fit body can have a sound mind and for sound mind, you certainly required physical exercise and nothing is better than sports to achieve that, that's why Higher Education Departmentis Organized this Sports Festival. He said the winning teams will further Play matches at Zonal level. |
