Now Pakistani forces target civilian properties in Jammu frontiers
2/24/2020 11:44:28 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 24: In a bid to make the Jammu region suffer even economically, the Pakistan has adopted a strategy to attack civilian properties on the frontiers in the region.
While the people of Jammu living along the frontiers like Rajouri and Poonch are often forced to live in community bunkers constructed by the government for their safety during Pakistani aggression, the Pakistani forces now want to damage their properties.
In the recent past, the Pakistani forces have been attacking the houses of villagers in particular when they are hiding in safe bunkers.
In one such incident, on February 21, as many as seven residential houses were targeted by the Pakistani shelling along the Line of Control in Poonch in Qasba village.
A residential house belonging to a widow was fully damaged whereas the victim has been crying for relief.
Six more houses in the neighborhood were also damaged.
The locals said none of the houses are worth habitation now. “They(Pakistan) is trying to attack the concrete houses in particular such that the economic loss to the affected people is more and this is a part of their sinister design,” said a senior official.
Recently in a similar aggression in Rajouri, concrete slabs of residential houses were damaged.
“Any damage due to shelling on a concrete or kacha house leaves it unfit for habitation which in other terms means that the poor villagers will have to live under open skies till they manage to reconstruct their houses,” explained a resident of Rajouri.
It is pertinent to mention that livelihood of the farmers is already affected long the Jammu frontiers as they unprovoked shelling from Pakistani forces keep them away from their farms and fields.
The Indian Army, on the other hand, has been giving a befitting reply to the Pakistani guns every time the enemy country opts for unprovoked shelling.
While Pakistan has been hiding the details of the damage caused on the other side, the Indian forces have been shattering the morals of the enemy country. “We stand with our forces and we are proud of them,” the residents of Rajouri said.
