POONCH, Feb 25: Three BSNL exchanges are said to be non functional in subdivision Mendhar which include Harni , Dubraj and Dhargaloon areas , sources said here today .
Sources said that six hundred landline connections were active and two hundred more connections were activated in the district after august 5, when Government of India revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
They said despite tireless efforts stress is being laid on the proper functioning of BSNL Exchange in the district so that people may not face any diificulty so far as communication facility is concerned but non functioning of the three exchanges in Mendhar sub division was a cause of concern.
BSNL officals admitted that three BSNL exchanges situated in Harni, Dubraj and Dharglaoon were not functioning . He said that the Nigam was running short of cable and other equipments which led to the nonfunctioning of the exchanges and tower of BSNL as a result of which machinery worth lakhs was gathering dust , he added, Meanwhile prominent citizen of the area have appealed CGM Jammu to take the notice of the issue and required equipments what so ever be made available to make functional three BSNL telephone exchanges in Mendhar. |
