BBBP workshop organised at GDC Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, Feb 25: To spread the awareness about the the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme a workshop was today organized at Govt Degree College Kishtwar under the chairmanship of DDC kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara .
Principal Govt Degree College Kishtwar Professor Pawan sharma, Nodal Officer BBBP Anoop Kumar, NSS Coordinator Asst. professor Faisal Mushtaq Kichloo, college faculty and numerous students of the College remained present on the occasion. DDC kishtwar while addressing the students said that Self-Defense trainings programme for girls shall be organised in the college in next month.
Further he directed the Nodal officer BBBP to distribute the books containing the inspiring stories and autobiographies among the students especially the girl students and asked the students to inculcate the habit of reading these books so that it can also bring a revolutionary changes in their life.
He further asked the Nodal Officer BBBP for organizing free driving courses for deserving girls and women so that they may become independent and empowered and shall able to develop a sense of motivation in facing the challenges of present day life.
DDC also asked for conducting Exposure tours for the school and college going girls as such tours will help them to acquire the knowledge of outside world and to shun the legacy of remaining confined within four walls of their houses and will provide the opportunity to reveal and explore the new avenues of life.
Root cause of discrimination shall be addressed and hence conducting sensitization programmes for both female as well as male populace is imperative, DDC Observed.
