EPFO hosts awareness workshop at Poonch

POONCH, Feb 26: Employees Provident Fund Organization, Regional office Jammu, today organized a workshop for the employers of district Poonch.
The workshop was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav.
Regional PF Commissioner, Prasant K, presided over the event. Father Mathew Nelledath, Principal Christ School Poonch and Secretary Private School Association, was also present on the occasion as the chief guest. The Employers of 50 establishments attended the workshop.
The DC, in his inaugural address, urged upon all the employers of Poonch to get themselves registered with EPFO and informed them about the benefits of PF, Pension and Insurance schemes for the employees. He also shared his experience with EPFO. He lauded EPFO for putting in place a totally transparent, online and fair mechanism. He requested all stakeholders to avail the online and hassle free service of EPFO.
It is pertinent to mention here that EPF and MP Act 1952, has been extended to the UTs of J&K and Ladakh with effect from October 31, 2019. Over 2500 establishment have registered with EPFO and paid contribution for nearly one lakh employees.
In the workshop, establishments which have not received code members and password are given the same. They were told/ taught about the knowhow of filing monthly return, paying contribution online and also familiarized with EPFO website www.epfindia.gov.in. Regional PF commissioner requested all employers to ensure payment of contribution from the month of November 2019 onwards immediately. The employers can call up 01912473230 and 01912472725 for any queries related to Provident Fund.
