DDC reviews functioning of JKPDCL

RAJOURI, Feb 26: District Development Commissioner Mohammad Nazir Sheikh today reviewed the functioning of the Jammu and Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation limited-(Electric Divisions of Rajouri), here at a meeting of concerned heads and field staff.
The DDC took a detailed review of the performance of the corporation and inquired about status of works under languishing projects scheme being executed in the district for augmentation of power supply, procurement of transformers, electric wires and poles, metering status, transformer bank, implementation of Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS), Progress on Grid station Siot , the revenue generated and other issues.
Regarding the Power infrastructure, it was given out that there are two 132/33KV grid stations in the district, having total capacity of 140 MVA, 36 receiving stations, 102 11 KV feeders and 3896 distribution transformers- with 57 transformers in the buffer stock.
While taking review of languishing projects, the Executive Engineer STD IV Kalakote informed the meeting that out of 7 languishing projects, work on 4 has been completed, while the rest would be completed in the month of April, 2020. Similarly, the Executive Engineer EM&RE Division informed that the work on 11 languishing projects is in progress and majority of them will be completed by July 2020.
The DDC passed a slew of directions for ensuring smooth functioning of the department. Directions were issued for identifying vulnerable areas where electric supply disrupts during rains/wind storms so that power supply is restored timely. Regarding the damages caused to HF/LT in the district due to rain and snow, it was informed that a loss to the tune of Rs 143.48 lacs has been assessed. The Executive Engineer EM&RE informed that the work on dedicated feeders at Chingus Fort and Shahdara Sharief Shrine has been completed.
