Police hold drive against tinted car windows

JAMMU, Feb 26: Ongoing drive against violators of traffic rules, the Jammu police launched awareness cum action drive against the vehicles having black film on windshields and side glasses.
During the driver, a number of vehicles were challaned and also seized by the police personnel in various parts of the city and appealed to the people of the Jammu to obey the traffic rules.
Police department of Jammu has been carrying out drive against the violators of the traffic rules for last three days and during the drive a lot numbers of vehicles including two wheelers and four wheelers were seized and challaned by the police.
As per police, Today drive has been launched to ensure adherence to the Supreme Court order, which has barred use of 'tints' on windscreens and windows of cars and other four-wheelers. It is being followed in all places. There are still riders who continue to use tints and flout the rule. We are taking action. The police will impose a fine and remove the tint.
Police also appealed to the general public to adhere the rules and cooperate with the police authority during 'nakkas'.
SSP Jammu told that no one is above law either violators are Police personnel or others. The rules are meant for all. Vehicles were challaned and seized by the police personnel, which are violating the traffic rules and also said that strict action would be taken against those who will not follow the same upcoming days
