Rajouri, Feb 27: An accused of rape and kidnapping have been sentenced to seven years of imprisonment.
Officials said that in a significant judgement, The Principal Session Judge Rajouri, Jaffar Hussain Beig on Thursday convicted the accused namely Ravinder Kumar resident of Kalsian Nowshera who was booked in case FIR 20/2007 that was registered in Sunderbani police station under sections 363, 376 RPC.
The final arguments from prosecution wing were put forth by Public Prosecutor Rajouri Shaheen Ahmed Khan before the Hon'ble Court.
The accused, a rapist, has been sentenced to seven years of rigrous imprisonment and fine of rupees ten thousand rupees in offence under 376 RPC and five years rigrous imprisonment and fine of rupees seven thousand under kidnapping.
Both the sentences shall run concurrently and the convict shall serve additional sentence of six months in default of payment of fine. |
