RAMBAN, Feb 27: Horticulture Department, Ramban today organised one day awareness camp, here at Panchayat Darmund, block Batote, to inform farmers about the “Development of Anardana Project”- a farmer friendly initiative of the district administration. Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Nawab Din presided over the function and Chief Horticulture Officer (CHO), V K Gupta was the expert speaker. BDC Chairman, Batote, Rajeshwar Kumar, Sarpanchs, Panchs, members of Self Help Groups and orchardists, besides field workers of the department attended the event. In his address, the ADDC exhorted upon the farmers to take maximum benefit of this government scheme as the district has high potential for increasing Anardana production. He impressed upon the fruit growers to form groups to take maximum benefit of “Development of Anardana Village” initiative and other schemes. He also distributed Anardana plants among the farmers under the project and instructed the field staff to sensitize orchardists about the importance of soil health, water conservation, Orchard Sanitation and importance of packing. |
