RR organises exhibition 'Saqafat 2020'

MENDHAR, Feb 27: Rashtriya Rifles organised exhibition 'Saqafat 2020' at GDC, Surankote under the aegis of Headquarter Counter Insurgency Force Romeo. General Officer Commanding, CIF (R) graced the event as Chief Guest and inaugurated the exhibition. The exhibition could not have been a success without active and all out support by Musaraf Hussain Shah, Principal GDC Surankote and staff who aided the Indian Army in terms of space, infra and knowledge about culture and heritage of the region. Various stalls to include local artifacts, handloom, handicrafts, herbs, organic farming were exhibited highlighting Gujjari and Pahari culture. The major attraction of this cultural prism was Know Your Army stall which saw huge crowd of youth, enthusiastically wanting to know about our great Indian Army. Thousand of locals attended the event and the competition saw an overwhelming response from youth as well as local spectators. The locals and youth whole heartedly appreciated the gesture of goodwill and bonhomie extended by Indian Army and requested the army to conduct similar events in the future also.
