Apple Kids celebrate 11th 'Annual Day'

JAMMU, Feb 27: Apple Kids, Sainik Colony celebrated its 11th 'ANNUAL DAY' function which was attended byy Dr. Manoj Kumar Dhar, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor - University of Jammu, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Sh. Ranjeet Kalra, J&K's representative to BCCI and Advisor Sports & Youth Affairs to the UT government of Lakshadweep, as the Guest of Honour.
The event unfolded with lighting of the lamp with all the dignitaries, which was followed by the Ganesh Vandana.
The talented students presented a Skit with the theme, "Healthy Food Vs Junk Food" followed with various colourful and mesmerizing events, such as Plastic Dance, Sports Dance & Zumba to mark the occasion. An ensemble comprising of facets from the local culture of J&K, Gujarat, Punjab etc. was beautifully presented by the students. The audience was captivated by the enchanting performance of the students.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest Dr Manoj Dhar appreciated the spirit and confidence of the students and the efforts of the school management and the staff. He said that proper pre-schooling of a child is very important aspect and needs to be nurtured for a strong foundation. What is learned through this process is instilled in the child for the rest of his life. But we should take utmost care that these children are not overburdened with studies.
The meritorious students were facilitated for the all round achievements and for academic excellence by the Guest of Honour, Mr Ranjeet Kalra. While speaking on the occasion Mr Kalra laid down the importance of sports in the child's life. He stressed the parents to see sports celebrities in their children and inculcate sports as a way of life. He complimented the students, teachers, parents and management for a wonderful programme. The chief coordinator Apple Kids Jammu, Mr. Sanjay Mehra, presented 10 years of service award to Ms. Preetipal Kaur.
The vote of Thanks was proposed by the Principal Mrs. Veena Aswal. Center Head, Mrs. Bindu Mehra presented the mementos to the Hon'able Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour.
