Farmers training programme concludes

JAMMU, Feb 27: A five day Training Programme under Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) concluded today at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo Jammu with the distribution of Knapsac Spray Pumps to the farmers by the Director of Agriculture, Inder Jeet. The Training was organized by Farmers Training Centre Jammu to create awareness among the farmers about the ongoing farmer's welfare schemes, integrated farming, interventions for doubling farmers income and latest technological innovations in Agriculture.
Farmers from Rajouri, Samba and Kathua districts participated in the training programme. Those present on the occasion include Joint Director Agriculture (Inputs), Anil Nargotra, Joint Director (SLUB), Daisy Bhan, Deputy Director of Agriculture (Central), Jagmohan Bhat and Deputy Director of Agriculture (Trainings), Rajinder Kumar Sharma. Speaking on the occasion, Inder Jeet advised the farmers to share the knowledge gained during the training with the fellow farmers in their respective areas. He called on farmers to organize themselves in Farmers Producers Organizations (FPOs), Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Farmers Interest Groups (FIGs) to avail various benefits and to receive the better remunerative returns of their produce through better marketing management. He impressed upon the officers to also involve PRI members in such training programmes for the better planning at ground level.
