EARLY TIMES REPORT

SRINAGAR, Mar 8: Principal Tyndale Bisco School and the Mallinson Girls School Society, Parvez Samul Kaul is in soup as serious allegations of embezzlement and misappropriation of school fee have surfaced against him.
Rajan Sandhu, Member All Saints Church Srinagar and Issac Samuel, Member of St. Paul’s Church Amritsar have filled written complaints with Crime Branch Jammu, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and Industries and Commerce department of Jammu and Kashmir alleging that the incumbent Principal of Tyndale Bisco School and the Mallinson Girls School Society Parvez Samul Kaul has misused and embezzled school fee and purchased properties worth crores.
Chruch members in the complaint have alleged that the incumbent School principal has purchased land in his own and wife’s name by using school fees and mortgaging the school property including nazool land with banks while he was supposed to use school fee for development of school.
In the complaint they have also alleged that Kaul has over thrown the actual management committee and reorganized it by introducing his family members in violation of constitution of the school as he being an employee can’t do this.
“He is and his wife was supposed to retire at the age of 60 years as the constitution of the society but due to illegal extensions granted by the self-styled committee they have looted the school fee to the tune of Rs 6 crores as salary,” reads the complaint filed by church members.
The incumbent school principal has also appointed his son as Administrator against the constitution of the school, alleged members.
In 10 page long complaint, members have claimed that incumbent school principal Parvez Samul Kaul embezzled school fee and purchased land and created two properties in the shape of two schools at Humhama and Tangmarg. “Present cost of schools at Humhama and Tangmarg owned by Kaul family is approximately Rs 50 crores,” members claim.
Demanding a fair probe, the members have requested Jammu and Kashmir Government to appoint an administrator for running the affairs of schools as per the Society Act.
They claimed that to embezzle sports funds, a female teacher having no sports related technical qualification was transferred and posted as coordinator for winter sports and camps.
“The School is collecting approximately Rs 30-40 lakh in the name of sports events, camps and extra-curricular activities annually and it takes not more than Rs 10-15 lakh expenditure on these activities in a year. The extra money is embezzled through vouchers,” members have said in the complaint while demanding a probe into the embezzlement of school funds.
It is important to mention here that Jammu and Kashmir Government allotted state land measuring 84 kanals, located at the prime location of Lal Chowk Srinagar, costing at present hundreds of crores of rupees, to the Christian Community for the purpose of imparting modern education to uplift the community educationally on the meager rent of Rs 1250 per month.
