Early Times Report
RAMNAGAR, Mar 8: Alleging cover-up in the deaths of children, Ranbir Singh Pathania, State Spokesperson J&K BJP and former MLA, while interacting with the local people herein has questioned registration of FIR against a poor RMP as well as the wholesale-vendor.
While alleging cheap cover up by the Drugs and Food Control Organization, J&K., he has raised a few questions including as to why the vendor as well as wholesaler been made liable for a manufacturing error committed by the original manufacturers-Digital Vision Pharma, Kala Amb, Sirmour H.P and M/S Orison Pharma, Ambala Cantt? He further questioned that as to why the concerned drug control authorities/testing agency have not been booked for allowing spurious drugs to be brought in J & K and unabatedly sold until the alarm well was sounded in Ramnagar? Pathania was emphatic in submitting as to why mandate of sections 20, 21, 22 & 23 of Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940, has not been adhered to by the Inspectors of Drugs & Food Control Organization. Their negligence and irresponsible way of working claimed 12 precious lives of infants. In order to escape public wrath and cover up the issue, the Deptt of Health and Drug Control authorities who is trying to cover up the whole issue by making scapegoat of a local, poor Ayurvedic Vaid and the wholesalers, while selling stories and fables of all sorts. .
Pathania asked the Department Of Health Services as to why no action has been taken against delinquent officials at Block and District/State level officers, who were in deep slumber while infant deaths were being reported from Ramnagar and its surroundings till being woken up by media. Pathania also questioned as to why, till now, no compensation has been awarded to the victims of this apathy and monetary or financial to those families who have been haphazardly seeking treatment in various hospitals outside J & K.
