Cheating detected on OLX, FIR registered | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 14: Crime Branch (CB) Jammu registered FIR against two fraudsters for cheating the an innocent persons on OLX by mischievously exchanging his hypothecated Scorpio. According to sources the CB booked Satnam Singh and Atul Kumar both resident of Punjab, for cheating the complainant on OLX by mischievously exchanging his hypothecated Scorpio. On a written complaint of Parnav Ganjoo alleging that on 30th December 2018 he contacted said Satnam Singh and Atul Kumar through OLX and made deal to exchange their cars. Subsequently the complainant exchanged his BMW car bearing No. DL8CT-3330 with Satnam Singh Scorpio bearing No. RJ3UA-3679. The said Satnam Singh handed over the Registration Certificate of Scorpio, copy of Aadhar Card and Blank Transfer set duly signed by owner with undertaking that there is no any kind of liability on said Scorpio. The accused Satnam Singh also gave assurance to complainant that he will send other documents of Scorpio within few days. After some days, the complainant repeatedly called said Satnam Singh and found his mobile switched off. After that the complainant found contact No. of Atul Kumar who told him that Scorpio has the liability of loan from AU Small Finance Bank and he would return his BMW car within 2-3 days and thereafter said Atul Kumar had also switched off his mobile. On receipt of instant complaint, a preliminary verification was conducted by Crime Branch, Jammu. During course of enquiry, it was established that Satnam Singh and Atul Kumar hatched a criminal conspiracy to cheat the complainant by exchanging their Scorpio which had the liability of loan of Rs.5.50 lac of AU Small Finance Bank with BMW Car of complainant and gave assurance to complainant that there is no any loan case on said Scorpio and also handed over the fake documents (transfer set of Scorpio) to complainant. Thus commission of offences under section 420,465,467,468,120-B IPC against said accused persons were substantiated. In this connection, a formal case FIR has been registered in Crime Branch Jammu and investigation initiated. |
