Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 25: As per the directions of District Development Commissioner, Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode, education department on Wednesday kick-started distribution of dry mid-day meal (ration) to the students at their door step in the district.
Pertinent to mention that the DDC Doda on Tuesday convened a meeting of officers of school education department and strictly directed them to start the distribution of dry Mid-day meal to the students at their doorsteps with immediate effect, besides also set the timeline of one week for 100 percent distribution.
The DDC also directed PO, ICDS to distribute the ration among the beneficiaries of anganwadi centres at their door steps across the district under the fixed timeline.
In order to avoid any public gatherings and to prevent individual to individual contacts at LPG refill points, grocery shops and medical stores, District Magistrate Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh Tara notified the list of shopkeepers along with their contact numbers for providing home delivery of essential commodities in wake of 21 days nationwide lock down announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for preventing the further spread on COVID-19.
The district administration has notified 96 shops, five gas agencies and other establishments along with their contact numbers for the convenience of the general public.
Besides, it has been strictly advised to the shopkeepers to avoid any kind of gathering during the process of delivery of commodities within or outside of their houses as the same could malign the mechanism under which home delivery has been arranged, DM said.
Further, in order to ensure the smooth delivery of essentials including medicines and LPG cylinders to the general public as per the requirement and to avoid any type of overcharging, hoarding and panic borrowings, DM has appointed AD FCS&CA Kishtwar (9797687888), Assistant Legal Metrology officer Kishtwar (9419157178) and designated Officer Food and Safety Kishtwar (9858555205) as Nodal officers to look after this mechanism.
It was informed that any shopkeeper who voluntarily desires to provide the home delivery of the essentials may contact the nodal officers notified above for his/her inclusion in the list.
