Fair Price shop owner Kulgam placed under suspension for violating the guidelines

SRINAGAR, Mar 25: After a picture of ration distribution and gathering at fair price shop in Kulgam went viral today on the social media networking sites, the authorities placed license of the owner of fair price shop under suspension.
Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs today put fair price shop owner under suspension, and issued an order in this regard.
Government issued an order vide no: 322 DFCS&CAK of 2020 Dated 25/03/2020 that reads, the photo circulated on whatsapp with regard to huge gathering of rationees at the Fair Price Shop Devesar despite circular directions and COVID-19 guidelines was found correct and tantamount to violation by the fair price shop Devsar.
“Now pending enquiry into the matter, the fair price shop license of Shri Shakeel-ur Rehman Malla, Fir Shop dealer Devsar is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect in view of government order no: 12-FCS&CA of 2016 (Clause (E), Sub Clause i), reads an order.
Order further said that, assistant director Kulgam is directed to make alternate arrangement for distributing ration to the rationees of the area through the nearest sale centre so that the raionees do not suffer.
Director Food, Bashir Ahmad confirmed to early times that, they have put the fair price shop owner’s license under suspension.
Earlier he was given directions, but despite that he had gathered many people at his fair price shop and has violated the guidelines, said Director FCS&CA.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar in a tweet said that, home delivery of PDS ration to 1.60 lakh families in Srinagar will start from 28 March under strict safety protocol.
Departments of food, Agriculture, Police along with magistrates, SRTC, SMC and volunteers include, said a tweet.
However sources said that, despite clear cut directions people defy the orders and administration should make complete restrictions over the movements of general public.
Amid COVID-19 scare, there should not be gathering of people, as time and again people have been requested by the law enforcing agencies, to stay indoors so that it is for the safety of people.
