BARAMULLA, Mar 25: Amid Covid scare, PM himself announced for complete lockdown for 21 days, but people are still defying the orders of civil administration and maximum no of people believes that they are virus-proof.
Despite the imposition of section-144 in place, people were seen roaming on various streets and in rural areas in north Kashmir districts, including of Baramulla.
However Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Baramulla Abdul Qayoom today said that, “to stay at home is not only safe for an individual, or a particular house, community, state but it is in the favour of a country at large.
While talking to media, SSP said that, I request the people to follow the guidelines that are given by the departments including of health in letter and spirit.
As you all know that due to Covid-19 the highest deaths have occurred in Italy that are second top in the health care in the world, and ours is very far from them.
In order to curb and crush this Covid-19, we want to tell everybody to stay at home and stay safe, we care for you, for your family and for the whole society, Ab Qayoom said.
SSP however requested the general public not to venture out of their houses, adding after visited various areas today, I met a group of old aged people on Baramulla streets, but unfortunately they still don’t understand the gravity of this deadliest disease.
After requesting them to stay indoors, they replied with a proud that nothing is going to happen them, I fail to understand that why people are taking this disease so lightly, as they believe that they are virus-proof.
Once again I request the general public not to come out of their homes, stay inside and stay safe, adding if people face any kind of problem, or they need any help from the authorities, let them call to our help centers that have been established in the district.
We will provide every sort of help to them, be it a matter of ration, transport or whatever, but stay at home and stay safe, said Ab Qayoom.
