Several stranded people called for help to reach back to homes

Jammu, Mar 27: Hundreds of standard passengers hailing from far flung areas of Doda and Kishtwar District held up at Jammu as well as at Kishtwar and Doda headquarters are calling for the help from the government as well as to District Administration so that they could reach their respective homes.
As per the details available with Early Times, several non locals from Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan and Padder were seen looking for the help from the local administration so that they could reach to their homes.
Marwah and Warwan area of Kishtwar District are presently under snow cover and their is no road connectivity to these areas and the nearest road link to these areas is some 55 KM from Kishtwar District Headquarter upto Dangdoru— from nearest road point, it took around two days to people of Marwah and Warwan to reach home— similarly Padder Sub Division headquarter is about 65 KM from Kishtwar while majority of its areas are without road and the last village of Machail is on two days foot journey from nearest road point.
Several people from these far flung areas were also seen waiting outside Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar office and also outside the police station Kishtwar for seeking the permission to travel.
Speaking to Early Times, some people who are stranded inform that somehow after hectic efforts they manage to get the required permission from the administration, put they were unable to find the vehicles as many driver refuse to travel following fear of being booked while at the same time, many vehicles had no fuel to travel.
Several people who are stranded at Jammu told the Early Times that though the government has claim that they have introduced the SRTC Bus services for Doda and Kishtwar from Jammu Bus Stand added that however they feel difficult to reach Bus Stand Jammu added that even if they reach Kishtwar or Doda by SRTC Bus, they will again get stranded since their is no vehicle available for them to travel to their respective homes.
Reacting to the Early Times queries, senior officials in the administration said that they give permission to several stranded passengers after taking all precautionary measures added that they are looking into the issue and assure all possible help to the stranded passengers.
Similar reports are being received from Doda District where hundreds of people who had reached District headquarter for various officials works or for medical checkup,s got stucked due to lockdown and are waiting for the help from the authorities as well as from the District Administration.
