Sukesh calls for innovative steps to tackle Covid-19

Jammu, Mar 29: Social activist Sukesh .C. Khajuria has called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take steps to tackle the situation posed by the spread of corona virus in the country. Appreciating the lock down of the entire country announced by the Prime Minister, Sukesh Khajuria said that extraordinary situations need innovative and bold initiatives. He said that country is facing severe crisis and need immediate steps to control the situation otherwise the consequences could be disastrous.
He further said that the first and foremost requirement of the country is to be equipped with the medical and health infrastructure to deal with the corona virus. “ There is immediate need for testing kits to embark upon an aggressive testing of the suspected corona virus patients to separate them from the healthy population. We need kits, ventilators, isolation wards and even dedicated hospitals to deal with the virus patients, “ he said. Sukesh Khajuria said that said that basic and advanced life support Ambulances, setting up of modular treatment facilities and use of applications for consultation with doctors are needed. “ The doctors and nurses all over the world are getting infected while treating the patients and there is urgent need for providing personal protective equipment like N95 Masks, Hazmat suits, gloves and safety goggles, “ he added. He said that public health is also important in these tiring times and the governments both the state/union territory/ central governments should ensure that essential commodities like rations, milk, vegetables ,fruits, pulses, sugar salt oils, cooking gas and medicines are made available to the general masses at fixed prices and none should be allowed to make money. The profit margins of the wholesalers and the retailers should be fixed and none allowed charging more than the prescribed rates.
