Early Times REport

Jammu, Mar 29: Corporator Ward No. 42 Vijay Choudhary and Ch.Manmohan Singh Former Mayor Jammu today appealed to the residents of their ward to respect the t erms of lockdown.
Choudhary said that it is upon us as citizens to face the reality of the situation and come to terms with it. Today she conducted a cleanliness drive in her ward to sanitize the locality by spraying Sodium Hypo Chloride solution to counter the menace caused by the virus and completed sec-1,2,3,4,5. Before this solution spray, regular de-fogging of the lanes was being done.
Vijay Choudhary and Ch.Manmohan Singh today distributed masks to the residents of their ward. Mrs Choudhary has authorized a JMC auto with speakers and it will run all day in her ward, playing a cassette, telling people about the virus and educating them on the precautionary measures to take for it. It will caution people about what they are supposed to.
She asked the residents of her ward to not panic in this situation. The sanitation staff is working round the clock to sanitize their area. We should be grateful to the sanitation staff, when our whole country is under lockdown, they among few others are risking their lives for our safety. They are the real heroes and we should respect their sacrifice and stay home and maintain the safety measures.
Mr and Mrs Choudhary, along with sanitation supervisor Subash Gill and his working team supervised the spray process. Mrs Choudhary requested people to pray for humanity. She said that at this time while thousands of people are dying in this world, we should rise above politics, society and such petty issues, our only religion must be humanity, our only affiliation must be towards solidarity for humanity. We should try to stay indoors not just for ourselves and our family but also for those heroes who have to stay out on roads for us. Need of the hour is not to panic and give air to rumors, but to be socially aware so that we can help in flattening the curve.
