Jammu Police “We Care for You” Campaign Continues”

Jammu, Mar 29: The “WE CARE FOR YOU” Campaign of Jammu Police launched by SSP Jammu, Shri Shridhar Patil (IPS) is going on in full swing in Police Station Bakshi Nagar.
The main aim of this campaign is to spread awareness and sensitize people about COVID-19 pandemic as well as help needy and poor people.
Today different teams of Police Station led by SDPO Bakshi Nagar, Dr. Amit Sharma, SHO Bakshi Nagar, Insp. Karan Chalotra, Incharge Police Post Sarwal, Insp. Vishav Pratap Singh and other probationer Sub-Inspectors, under the supervision of Ms. P. D. Nitya, SP City (North), Jammu started going door-to-door with appeal to people to come forward with their travel history, if any.
The teams also spread awareness about the “do’s and don’ts” like circling with paint in front of shops of essential commodities to maintain social distance, use of mask/gloves while going out-side, Police also appealed people to send only one person per family to buy essential commodity/medicine and that too with-in their vicinity and other important instructions.
The Police teams provided packed food to 197 families, who made the distress call during the morning hour’s to concerned Beat officers and distributed dry ration to 50 families of needy labourers, 200 packets of eatable and 42 packets of fruits & vegetables amongst the labour class at Mazdoor Basti, Reshamgarh Colony, Juggies at Vikas Nagar, Patoli, Subash Nagar of Sarwal, Bakshi Nagar area. The Items have been distributed in the collaboration with Social and Religious organisations.
The Police officials said this door-to-door campaign will prove effective in tracking foreign and other travel related returnees and all PRI’s are being roped in so that myths are cleared. As well as people are aware and sensitize about COVID-19.
As a result of these innovative efforts, Police has been able to trace out 116 persons with travel history so far, more than 439 labourers families have been identified and provided with eatables & ration for which Police is working.
Further, the step is helping to ease pressure of fear among people about COVID-19, besides spreading awareness among all. Similarly 15 other police stations did same campaigns . 125 food packets has been distributed amongst the needy labourers residing in the Juggies at Shiv Nagar, Sarwal with the collaboration of Mohalla Youth Welfare Committee, Bakshi Nagar.
