Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 29: Former Minister & President DCC Kathua Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today wrote a letter to LG J&K to apprise him about the conditions of people from J&K who are stuck outside in other states and are unable to come back.
He said thousands of J&K residents, including students and laborers, have been stranded across the country in view of lockdown following Coronavirus threat and several others are struck in guest houses or hotels and have run out of money to pay their costs. This lockdown is beginning to have a detrimental effect on such fellow citizens.
Dr Sharma urged LG administration to take up the issue with Governments of other States as number of stranded people include students, workers in small trading activities and their families, who are helplessly waiting at different locations for some mode of transportation to reach at their homes. He said when so many people were stranded abroad, we sent aircraft to get them back as everyone wants to stay with their families during such times of crisis so why not such facility be arranged for locals stranded with in the country while taking proper care and preventive measures.
He also said all political parties must unite in helping such people in distress. Manohar further said that J&K administration should take priorities up the matter with the respective State Governments so that food, shelter, medicines and other necessary items could be provided to those, who are in desperate need. He said family members of such people shall be pleased if the stranded people shall be evacuated and we hope J&K administration could reach out to the needy through respective Governments of other states where they are stranded.
