Jammu, Mar 30: An urgent meeting of Federation of Industries Jammu was held today in which the members present in the meeting shown their resentment towards the pick & choose policy adopted by the Director of Industries Jammu for the grant of permission to run the manufacturing and packaging units under the Essential Commodities as notified by the Govt.
In this regard we submit that categories of Industries as approved to operate by Director Industries in which permission was granted to five units of a particular group U Flex and two units for the packaging material only inspite of the facts that one of the units of U Flex manufacturing Ink and Cylinders whereas not even a single SSI Unit not covered inspite of the facts that nos of unit working in Jammu, Bari Brahmana, Samba & Kathua which includes the working units of Annapurna Laminators, New Godavari Packers etc. In respect of Plastic Bottles units two units of Saraswati Group included and only two other units in SSI Sector included whereas nos of other units working in Gangyal, Bari Brahmana, Samba and kathua not given the permission.In respect of Corrugated Boxes manufacturing Units, the permission granted to only two units M/s Bloom Packaging Samba and Alpine Containers Bari Brahmana whereas other around 50 60 units working in Jammu for the manufacturing of Corrugated Boxes in Province and supplies the goods to essential commodities manufacturing units not included in the permission granted to run which terms as discrimination with the Micro & Small Sector Units working in our State by Sons of the Soils
