Covid-19 Extend date for depositing school fee to Apr 30: Govt to private schools

Jammu, Mar 30: Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered the extension of last date for depositing school fees up to April 30 and also directed all the private schools to issue appropriate directions in this regard.
The government has directed the private schools to extend last date for depositing school fees from March 30 to April 30 without any late fees. The government has also directed the private schools not to charge any fee for the online lectures/assignments given to the students amid lockdown in the Union Territory.
In an order issued by Principal Secretary to the Government School Education department, Dr.Asghar Hassan Samoon said that the directions shall apply to all private schools affiliated to any board functioning in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
The order, read that if there was violation reported, it shall be viewed seriously and stern action under rules will be taken against the violators.
It added, “Whereas, complaints have also been reported that the parents are being harassed by school authorities and the teachers concerned mandatorily submit their assignments on the same day.
“Whereas in view of existing situation it may not be possible for students of the their parents to deposit the school fees as per schedule fixed by various private schools and it unethical to pressurise parents and students amidst prevailing circumstances to do so”.
It added, whereas in taking cognizance of the issue in the interest of the public at large and students and their parents in particular it is ordered that last date to deposit school fees is extended up to 30 th April 2020 without any late fee and no school shall either charge any fee for the online lectures assignments or shall link the result of the child on the basis of home assignments.
