Mayor feeds stray animals, distributes ration to needy persons

Jammu, Mar 31: In view of prevailing situation arisen due to outbreak of COVID-19 Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation besides undertaking sanitation spray and fumigation drives today alongwith Dr. Susheel Sharma Municipal Veterinary Officer, JMC and other field staff gave feed to the stray animals including dogs cows etc in the various parts of Jammu City as due to lockdown, they are not getting properly required feeding to survive. Later, Mayor along with Surinder Sharma Councilors of ward no.38, Vicky Manhas, Pardeep Sharma, Rajinder Abrol, prominent citizens of Janipur area also distributed ration to 175 needy and downtrodden families residing in the Janipur area. The ration was distributed at Project School Janipur in a systematically manner keeping in view the proper social distancing and guidelines of government. Mayor told that the other locations shall also be covered in future for distribution of ration to the needy persons on routine basis besides giving feed to the stray animals.
Mayor also appeal to all the social organizations as well as prominent citizens of Jammu who are capable enough to come forward for the noble cause to provide food and other essential commodities like Medicines, Masks, Sanitizers etc to the needy, poor and daily wage earners residing in their surroundings during this tough time.
