Fight against Covid-19: Police in Banihal crack whip on lockdown violators

Banihal Mar 31: In order to prevent the movement of unwarranted people and street Romeo,s the Police Banihal Sub Division of Ramban District started taking strict action against those stepping out of their houses amid the corona virus threat without any reasons. As per the details available with Early Times, police, administration and Banihal based NGOs, Volunteers and Red Cross members were seen on the roads of Banihal to educate the people about ill effects and hazards of Corona Virus. The Police officials warns commuters to go back home during lock down at different Villages of Banihal as the number of Covid-19 infected people increasing day by day in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and who repeatedly found violating the guidelines, were taken to task by punishing them social and morale punishments. Meanwhile Administration is taking strictly action to enforce the lockdown in the far flung areas of Sub Division where the administration were making announcements that Legal action will be taken against the violators.
The announcements are being made through loudspeakers with the support of Army, NGO,s, Volunteers and through members of Red Cross committee. "It seems that many people are still not taking the lockdown seriously, where as District Administration Ramban always asked peoples to maintain social distancing and not to come out of their house without any reason with the slogan to "stay home stay safe". Said a police officer wishing not to be named added that police is being forced to take action since many people did not cooperate at the time when whole society is at risk and at the brink of disaster aimed growing Corona Virus threat that has already started knocking the doors in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir with cases reported from nearby Udhampur District.
