| Dealer charging extra for APL, BPL ration at Garhi in Udhampur district | | |

Udhampur Mar 31: A dealer under government Ration Depot Garhi when distributed the ration at lower Malarh panchayat in Udhampur district here is charging extra for the APL and BPL ration while the country is passing through a 21 days lockdown in the wake of dreaded coronavirus pandemic.
When contacted different people said that the dealer was charging different prices from APL and BPL ration card holders. People expressed resentment and said that when the PM Modi is extending all possible help to the people such black sheep should be dealt with strictness. Some ration seekers informed that the dealer was trying to recover his dues of the year 2016. When contacted AD Udhampur Arif and he said rates have been revised after 2016 but there are orders from higher ups to recover the dues of 2016 which are to the tune of one lakh 28 thousands. However he said that the extra money taken this time will be returned to ration seekers and the recovery will be made once the crisis of coronavirus is over. |
