Former MLC opposes another toll plaza at Lakhanpur
4/2/2020 12:36:15 AM
Early Times Report

Kathua, Apr 1: Former Member Legislative Council and Senior Congress leader Subash Gupta has opposed to the imposition of another toll tax at Lakhanpur Toll Plaza in Kathua. He questioned BJP Govt that why one more toll plaza was established at Lakhanpur instead of abolishing toll tax at Toll Plaza Thandi Khui.
While commenting on the notification for establishing another toll plaza at Lakhanpur Subash Gupta criticized BJP for the third toll plaza on the route from Lakhanpur to Katra, the base camp of holy pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi Ji.
The BJP had promised to remove the toll plaza at Thandi Khui- Vijaypur but it is sorry to say that despite taking action against the same, now the BJP leadership had earmarked another burden when the whole nation is fighting against Corona virus and is at total lockdown.
“It is a great set back to the people of entire Jammu division as well all pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Devi Ji and Shri Amarnath Ji from whole of country by road transport via Lakhanpur to Jammu to Katra, and Udhampur, as they will have to pay the toll tax thrice one way,” Gupta irked.
Gupta asked for immediate withdrawal of notification of decision of charging toll tax at toll plaza Lakhanpur, which is anti people and pilgrims.
