EARLY TIMES REPORT

POONCH, Apr 1: In view of the threats posed by the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, two quarantine centres were established in Surankote Tehsil as a precautionary measure but the centres operationalized are lacking the much needed facilities for the quarantined persons.
The centres which were established at Government Degree College Surankote and JNV School Surankote are allegedly not sufficiently provided with the necessary facilities, alleged relatives of the persons kept there.
They complained that amenities being provided by the local administration are not up to the mark.
The people alleged that the quarantined persons are not proper bedding or food in the centres while the officials are not paying any visit to check the status of facilities being provided. They said that quarantine centres are no less than a 'hell' for those kept there.
They urged DC Poonch to upgrade the facilities in the centres at the earliest and also requested him to personally pay a visit there to take stock of the facilities.
