Jammu, Apr 1: While every department and institute are announcing relief to the affected due to Corona virus, the National Highway Authority has issued a notice to open the toll plaza in the proposed Lakhanpur from April 1. The Dist Congress Committee, Jammu strongly condemned this move and excoriated the BJP regime for announcing the establishment of another toll plaza. Earlier, the open toll plaza in Saror was strongly opposed by the people. Yogesh Sawhney, Former Minister J&K and General Secretary JKPCC, In Chg District President Jammu (Urban), expressed his apprehensions regarding this move. Imposition of another toll tax at Lakhanpur in Kathua is an act of exploiting people's pockets. Is it a Navratras gift to the people of Jammu and the pilgrim of Sri Mata Vaishnodevi, asked Sawhney. The pilgrims will suffer, all of them visiting Shri Vaishno Devi or Sri Amarnath ji from various states via Jammu to Lakhanpur route will have to pay the toll tax thrice one way.The recently announced increase in toll price rates is another issue that concerns us.
