JMC deployes road sweeping vacuum machine

Jammu, Apr 3: In order to give further boost to the cleanliness drive and fight against Covid 19, Jammu Municipal Corporation conducted an extensive drive under the directions of Avny Lavasa, Commissioner, JMC in National Highway Channi towards Sidhra bye pass.
The drive has been started from Jammu Darbar in the presence of Tinna Mahajan, Secretary JMC. During the drive, JMC deployed both men and machinery for clearing of huge dumps of garbage and waste including Construction and Demolition waste lying on main roads from Jammu Darbar to Sidra.
Apart from routine machinery, JMC today also deployed mechanical road sweeping vacuum cleaning machine for cleaning of main roads to remove all kinds of dirt and dust particles from the road surface & from curved grooves on the road side including parapets. The JMC utilized vacuum created by mechanical pumps of the sweeping machines for suction of dirt particles which help in minimizing the human touch during sweeping of main roads in view of widespread of Covid 19. Further intensifying the fight against Corona Virus all the red zones viz. Sunjwan, Bhatindi, Gujjar Nagar, Bhawani Nagar, Janipur as well as today morning identified location viz. Kalika Colony, Gorkha Nagar upto Bahu Fort have been fumigated and sprayed. Moreover, dedicated teams have been made for cleanliness, spraying and fumigation at all designated quarantine centers, all Hospitals, Bus Stand alongwith the routine spraying in all the wards within the jurisdiction of Jammu Municipal Corporation for which machinery viz. Disinfector Sprinklers, Autos, Fogging machines, spray pumps, Motorized Portable sprayer alongwith 500 Ltr. Tank with chemical solution and Battery are being used.
The Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation further appealed to general public to maintain proper sanitation & also to go unsocial and not to come out of their homes so that spreading of corona virus is stopped, as without the help of citizens it is hard to achieve the desired results and to make Jammu free from Covid-19.
