Lockdown continues; three trucks, one JCB seized

Rajouri, Apr 3 : The restrictions of lockdown due to COVID19 continued in Rajouri district on Friday with essential services remained available for masses. The people remained indoor and came out in a very lesser number that too only for availing essential commodities.
Meanwhile four vehicles have been seized and cognizance taken for violation of norms.
Police said that a team of police headed by SHO Manjakote Manzoor Kohli was on routine patrolling when three trucks labelled as FCI Duty were on way to Jammu from Poonch and during frisking, the trucks were found loaded with natural stone after which the trucks have been seized and cases under relevant sections have been registered in Manjakote police station.
Similarly, a JCB machine being used for a construction work in Nagrota village near Rajouri was seized, driver arrested and a FIR registered after a team headed by SHO Rajouri Sameer Jillani found the machine vehicle engaged in work violating the restriction order.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Chandan Kohli said that people of Rajouri have extended a well appreciable cooperation in the lockdown.
"We further appeal people to stay indoor and to stay safe and to play their role in the fight against COVID19." said SSP
