Jammu, April 4: Adv. Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor Jammu today said that JMC has been supplying essential food items to the needy people in different wards but the councilors of the wards brought to the notice of Deputy Mayor that the distribution of essential food supply was done without the information of the concerned Councillors due to which the actual needy persons were left without getting the essential food supplies.
So after conducting a meeting with the JMC Commissioner Avny Lavasa, Deputy Mayor, Adv. Purnima Sharma through media personnel informed the Councilors that they can make a list of needy people of their respective wards and submit it to the Commissioner JMC for providing the essential food items to them. The criteria for the list will be that the individual should not be possessing Ration card otherwise he/she can take ration from the nearest ration Depot and also the individual had not taken any past help from the Government of India regarding the essential food supplies. These are the major two criteria upon which the list is to be made by the Councilors and later to be submitted to the Commissioner JMC for necessary help of the individual. Adv. Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor through the media ensured the public that such distribution of ration (food supplies) will be done to the locals and needy in the wards to provide relief to them and further appealed to the public of Jammu to stay indoors and cooperate with the efforts of Government and Police that are trying their best to stop the further spread of this pandemic. |
