Four terrorists, involved in civilian killings, neutralized in Kulgam

Kulgam, Apr 4: In a major success, Security Forces are Saturday eliminated four terrorists, who were involved in recent civilian killings, in an encounter in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
According to reports, on Saturday morning, a gunfight between militants and security forces ensued in Hardmanguri area of Khur Batpora in Kulgam district.
“The gunfight ensued after a joint team of army’s 34 RR, paramilitary CRPF and police’s SOG laid a cordon around the area in the wee hours amid “specific information” about the presence of a group of militants there,” they said.
The militants, according to reports, were asked to lay down arms and surrender but the terrorists hiding the residential house fired upon the forces. The joint team retaliated and this triggered an encounter in which four militants were killed, they said.
Confirming the killing of four terrorists, GOC Victor Force complimented forces for neutralizing them who according to him had targeted and killed civilians in Anantnag and Kulgam district of South Kashmir.
“We started receiving information about the movement militants a day after they killed two civilians in Nandimarg village of Kokernag. Yesterday we received strong input about their presence in Chimar Village of Kulgam. Militants were offered to surrender but they didn’t and instead fired upon forces. This led to an encounter in which four terrorist were neutralized and the search for body of fifth terrorist is underway,” he said.
He said that a large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the slain terrorists.
Slain militants were identified as Aijaz Ahmed Naiko @Moosa s/o M Iqbal Naiko r/o Chimmer DHpora Kulgam. Naikoo was active since 22nd of August 2018. Shahid Ahmed Malik s/o M Sadiq r/o Khull DHpora Kulgam, Waqar Farooq s/o Farooq Ittoo r/o HCgam, Kulgam and M Ashraf Malik @sadam r/o Arwani Anantnag.
