Jammu, Apr 5: Asha Kiran Welfare Society (AKWS) today distributed ration items among more than 170 families from Shivalikpuram, Krishna Vihar and Ananpur Mohallas in Janipur housing Colony, Jammu.
The ration items included rice, dal, potatoes, nutery, sugar, soap and other essential items which are needed for daily use. The society also gave message of social distancing and sanitization.
The society came forward for the help of people who do not hold relevant BPL cards and slum dwellers. Dr J P Gupta, Chairman thanked all the members of the society who came forward for providing financial help/free ration to the needy people. He that large number of people are coming forward to help the needy at this time.
Those who donated generously included Dr R D Gupta, Bodh Raj Sharma, Dr Kuldip Gupta, Vijay Tak, Vijay Verma and others. President of the society Dr Vikrant Sharma in his message advised the general masses to follow the Government instructions of social distancing and avoid panic.
