SC/ST Retired Employees Forum distributes ration

Jammu, April 8: Amid the national lockdown to control Novel Coronavirus pandemic, SC/ST Retired Employee Forum today organized a program at Bhartiya Dalit Sahtiya Academy, Jammu to distributed dry ration and essential items among the needy families of Buta Nagar, Saryara Mohallah, Paloura.
Members of the forum, distributed dry ration of 10 kg rice, 10 kg Atta, 2 kg Dal, Cooking oil, Masala and Soap to each family. People present in the program maintained social distancing as per the guidelines of the health authorities. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Seva Ram Digra, Retired Director, GSI and Convener of the forum said that as the country continues its battle against the coronavirus, people support is must to win this war.
He urged people to stay home and strictly follow the guidelines issued by the health authorities to protect themselves and their families from the COVID infection. Prof. G.L. Thappa, President of the forum said that these are the tough times especially for the poor. Due to the complete lockdown across the country, the most affected have been the daily wage workers who are unable to make their ends meet.
He urged people to ensure proper social distancing during the lockdown period and pledged the support of the forum to needy people as and when required. Ha said that his team is working hard to make it sure that no one go hungry during the lockdown. Other present on the occasion were Sat Paul Bavoria, General Secretary of the forum, Som Nath Dogra, Incharge of Bharatiya Dalit Sahtiya Academy, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Atri and Roshan Palouria.
