Handwara Police booked 27 persons for defying prohibitory orders and seized 6 vehicles

KUPWARA, April 8: Around twenty seven persons have been arrested and 06 vehicles seized by Handwara Police in its jurisdictional Police Stations for violating the orders issued U/s 144 CrPC, while as some areas in north Kashmir have been declared as Buffer zones. A senior police official said that, Handwara Police in its efforts to ensure complete lockdown across the police district Handwara for the safety of people, despite clear lockdown orders of government and time to time announcements made by Handwara Police via loud speakers.
In the jurisdiction of Police Station Qalamabad 11 persons have been arrested and 01 Vehicle seized for violating prohibitory orders imposed U/s144 CrPC, the police official told ET.
He said that, in this context Case FIR No. 24/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Qalamabad against the violators and investigation taken up.
While in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vilgam 05 persons have been arrested in case FIR NO 27/2020 U/s 188, 269 IPC for violating the prohibitory orders over Coronavirus.
Similarly in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kralgund 11 persons have been arrested and 05 Vehicles in case FIR NO 33/2020 U/s 188 IPC for violating prohibitory orders imposed by District Magistrate U/s 144 CrPC.
Once again people of Handwara are requested to follow Govt. advisories/orders so that this deadly virus/ COVlD-19 could be controlled, the official informed.
Notably it is important to mention here, besides arrests of many persons in Handwara and its adjoining areas for violation of prohibitory orders by the govt, many areas in north Kashmir have been already declared as Red Zones and Buffer Zones after some positive cases were reported.
Reliable sources that, Kupwara town, Hajin area of Bandipora district and Tangmarag town in Baramulla district have been already declared as Red zones, while as its adjacent areas have been declared as Buffer zones.
