Early Times Report

MENDHAR, Apr 8:At a time when general public is scared about the COVID-19 epidemic, some shopkeepers have been selling masks, sanitizers and other items on exorbitant rates, evoking resentment among public.
According to sources, there is no availability of masks and sanitizers in the Mendhar, Surankote, Mandi and Poonch and if they are found somewhere, the shopkeepers are selling them on high rates. The public is disappointed with the authorities concerned, which have failed to check the rates of these essential items.
“Even though we had earlier requested the media to highlight such issues but despite that there was no action over it. We believe if the departments including food and drug control officials will pull up their socks, only then something could be done otherwise, these essential items will be out of bounds for common masses”, a local said.
Apart from public even the doctors and paramedical staff of health department is without this essential items, a doctor said, adding many chemists in Mendhar Suranlote Mandi and Poonch are black-marketing the essential items and with the result people are facing lots of difficulties
